Golf Reigns Supreme in Los Cabos
Known far and wide for its stunningly beautiful courses, premier class golfing in Los Cabos is available and enjoyable to golfers of all abilities. Los Cabos has become known as the ‘Golf Capital of Latin America’ with links notably designed by visionary designers that include Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones Jr, and Tom Fazio. Sweeping ocean vistas complement challenging playing greens with roughly twenty renowned courses dotting the twenty mile corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Golfing burst onto the Cabo scene in the 1990’s, with the 27 holes at Palmilla opening as Jack Nicklaus’ first signature course in Latin America, and Golfing Digest has ranked four courses in Los Cabos within the hundred top in the world. Los Cabos hosts professional tournaments as well, including the PGA Tour World Wide Technology Championship.

While morning tee times are always a delight, it’s worth noting that sometimes lower rates are possible for times in the afternoon and evening slots.
Three notable courses are private, being exclusively for members, and in some instances, designated guests: the award-winning Cabo del Sol Cove Club (previously known as the Ocean Course), friendly and serenely landscaped El Dorado, and top-notch Querencia. Another three courses are private, yet allow limited access: hilltop Chileno Bay, view-laden Twin Dolphin, and the East Cape’s Costa Palmas. Similarly, there are four semi-private courses with resort access: 36 strategically planned holes at Diamante, newer arrival Nobu, the challenging greens at the Hard Rock Hotel, and beachfront Quivita at the Pueblo Bonito Resort.
For those seeking public golfing opportunities, there are seven options: multi-themed Cabo Real , panoramic and precise Club Campestre San Jose, the East Cape’s Puerto Los Cabos, Solmar which is a great source from which to spot migrating whales, the conveniently located Cabo San Lucas Country Club (formerly Raven Golf Club), artfully nature-centered Cabo Del Sol (formerly the Desert Course), and the ‘Grand Dame of Los Cabos Golf’, the Palmilla Golf Club.
